Breaking changes to be aware of for users of IG Media reports in Pressboard.
We're pleased to communicate that we are now in full swing with Meta's Views metric since we have upgraded to v22.0 Graph API. This aligns the functionality of Instagram API with that of the Instagram app where you've probably seen the Views metric already available for your media content.
The functionality was released PM March 31st (PST)
What this means for your reports?
The Views metric replaces the below IG Media metrics respectively which will be deprecated starting in v22.
The Instagram `impressions` metric will only be deprecated for media created on or after July 2, 2024.
Instagram Posts - Impressions
Instagram Reels - Plays, Replays, Total Plays
Instagram Stories - Impressions
As a result, any existing report components incorporating deprecated Impressions and Plays metrics will need to be updated by a 'data admin' of your account.
Actions to take in your account:
Only users who have been assigned the 'data admin' permission have the ability to update Report Components and Story Reports to incorporate Views in Campaign level reporting views and Custom Reports.
If you have IG profiles connected in Settings and already syncing Instagram media data, you can proceed to make updates to existing components via the Report Components workflow.
Note, in some cases, your Customer Success Manager may have already added or updated components in your account. If these components are in use, the changes will take effect immediately in Custom Reports and Story Reports where they are applied.
Specifically, you will see two Highlight Components now available in your repository:
The Views metric is available to select for Instagram Post, Instagram Reels and Instagram Stories reporting cubes within the Widgets and Report Components workflows:
